Caramel-Walnut Blonde Brownies Ingredients: 1 (14-ounce) pkg.
caramels Directions: * Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place caramels in a medium saucepan over low heat, add 1/3 c. milk and stir often until caramels melt. Remove from heat and set aside. * Combine cake mix and remaining milk, along with the next 3 ingredients, and stir just until blended. * Spread half of batter into a greased 9" square pan, and chill remaining half in the refrigerator. Bake the first half of dough for 10 minutes, then cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes. * Pour melted caramel mixture over brownie layer and sprinkle with walnut pieces. * Divide remaining chilled dough into pieces, and press flat. Place dough pieces over caramel walnut layer, overlapping slightly. * Bake for 25 minutes. Remove pan from oven and cool completely on a wire rack. * Cover brownies and chill for at least 1 hour before cutting into bars. Makes 15 brownies.
