Turtle Brownies

Baking the perfect
brownie is not easy, but a box mix simplifies the process immensely. Yet, you
would never know from tasting these delicious brownies that they started with
chocolate cake mix.

To make these brownies, you need the following ingredients:
1 package chocolate cake mix
1 package chocolate instant pudding
1 cup melted butter
1 cup evaporated milk, divided
1 package caramels (14 oz.)
1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped pecans, toasted
In bowl, combine cake mix, dry pudding, butter, and 1/2 cup evaporated milk.
Press 1/2 of mixture into a 9x13-inch baking pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 12
minutes.
Meanwhile, in saucepan, melt caramels and remaining evaporated milk, stirring
constantly. Spread caramel mixture over baked layer. Sprinkle with chocolate
chips and pecans. Drop the remaining cake batter in teaspoonfuls over the
brownies. Bake 25-30 minutes or until the top is set.
Serves 24.
