Salted Peanut Cookies
by Mary Lou Baldwin

There no doubt in my mind that this is one of the weirdest sounding recipes in all my notebooks, but it's also one of the best. The recipe comes from my grandmother and she said she got it from a neighbor back in the 30's.

The original recipe calls for HOG LARD but I decided the Crisco would be a little healthier. Enjoy!!

1 c butter flavored Crisco

1 c granulated sugar

1 c brown sugar

2 eggs

2 c flour

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

½ tsp salt

1 c oatmeal

2 c Wheaties

1 c salted peanuts

Mix in order given. Shape into balls the size of a walnut and press down. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-15 minutes until golden brown. Makes 3-4 dozen.
